Meet the Team

Lara Vermaas is a warm, compassionate educator who is deeply committed to nurturing young minds and creating a learning environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued. Her approach is family-orientated, learner-centred, and rooted in genuine care.

She holds an NQF Level 5 qualification in Early Childhood Development and a Bachelor of Education in the Intermediate and Senior Phase, with a specialisation in Mathematics. Lara’s academic journey reflects determination and resilience—having completed Grades 11–12 and her university studies through correspondence. This path allowed her to gain meaningful, hands-on classroom experience while studying, equipping her with both practical insight and confidence as an educator.

Since 2011, Lara has taught and tutored learners across a range of grades in mainstream, LSEN, and remedial settings. This experience has given her a deep understanding of diverse learning needs and the importance of adapting teaching methods to suit each child’s pace, strengths, and learning style.

At the heart of Lara’s teaching is patience, encouragement, and connection. She believes that when children feel understood and supported, they are far more likely to grow in confidence and reach their full potential.
